Applying as a Short-Term, Visiting Student
SIS offers visiting the students the chance to experience a US-based classroom for short-term visits. Visits are generally thematic and not for credit toward a degree or academic certificate. No grades are given to our visiting students but they have the unique opportunity to improve their English, get a glimpse of a US classroom and experience the warmth that is SIS and the CNMI. Visiting Students are generally on break in their home countries. Visiting students typically spend up to four weeks in the program and may not stay longer than three months. There are many types of programs your student can join. The Classroom Immersion Program is very popular and fills up quickly. Placement in the classroom immersion program during the high season (August and January) is on a first come, first serve basis for those meeting the minimum English requirements. A placement test may be given at SIS on the first day of the program or earlier if the student is on Saipan.
During the high period, the cost for all programs is $1220/month (four weeks). Spaces are limited and only guaranteed with full, non-refundable payment.
